Carnival in Turin is at Balon!!

On Sunday 23 February, the historic antiques and vintage market will host numerous historical reenactment groups, whose performances and final parade will take spectators on a journey through time in a crescendo of emotions: from ancient Rome to the Middle Ages, from the eighteenth-century courts to the Napoleonic wars… all in the streets of one of the most beautiful villages in the Savoy capital.

11am – Opening of the Carnival with Gianduja, Giacometta and Rusnenta and the authorities
11:30 am – Parade of the children of Sermig and Cottolengo

📸📸🤳🏻 A special invitation open to all: the PHOTO CONTEST of the Antico Carnevale del Balon is back – Sunday 23 February!

The competition will be open to everyone: professionals and amateur photographers with their cameras. 📸 and simple enthusiasts equipped with smartphones 🤳🏻: just publish in a single post on Instagram the 3 best photos taken during the day of February 5th, by Friday 28th at 12pm. The post must include the tag @balontorino and the hashtag #fotobalon.

THE PRIZES
🥇 200 euros
🥈 100 euros
🥉 50 euros
– For 4th and 5th place a free aperitif in one of the Balon bars
– From 6th to 10th place, a Balon gadget that can be collected at the headquarters of the Balon Traders Association in Via Andreis 14, Turin.

THE PHASES OF THE COMPETITION
1. Come to the Antico Carnevale del Balon on February 23rd. Take your best photos!

2. Select the three best photos and publish them in a single Instagram post, by Friday 28 at 12.

Photos from multiple different posts for a single person will not be accepted.

on the Post there must be the tag to @balontorino and in text the tag and hashtag @balontorino #fotobalon
At the Gran Balon on Sunday 9 March, the photographs of the 10 first place winners will be exhibited, which will be previously announced on our pages.

📌 La Rusnenta, the historic Balon mask, will not be missing, accompanied by Gianduja and Giacometta who, together with a jury of historians and journalists, will decree at the end of the day which will be the winning group of this edition.

📌 Our special partners in organizing this fantastic event are Famija and Radio GRP, which will make numerous live connections.

📌 There will also be some historical installations in the courtyard of the hammer mill and in the central square of via Borgo Dora.

📌 Also not to be missed is the gathering of historic Fiat 500s.
